Power Rankings: Another Loss, another drop?

The rankings are all over the map.

MLS: FC Dallas at Portland Timbers Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas lost 2-0 at Portland, but was anybody paying attention?

Most sites did not bother to post rankings this week, but the few who did, were not quite sure what to make of the FCD loss.

MLS - Ranking 3 (Last Week 1)

Comments: A loss to the Timbers probably just means a temporary ding, especially when they’ll get nascent USMNT megastar Kellyn Acosta back home.

Stumptown Footy - Ranking 12 (Last Week 8)

Comments: There's not much for FC Dallas fans to take away from a shutout loss on the road during an international break, but Mauro Diaz continuing to make his recovery from last year's Achilles tendon injury is a small bright spot. This was his first road trip since making his 2017 season debut on May 29th, and he did manage a key pass in his limited time. Dallas will only keep getting better as he returns to form.

Soccer America - Ranking 7 (Last Week 5)

Comments: Shorthanded by callups and injuries, FCD fell to its third loss in the last five games. Roland Lamah was denied a goal by a great save, Mauro Diaz continued his comeback from injury by playing the final 26 minutes, and Cristian Colmanmaintained his goalless record in MLS by squandering an excellent opportunity.
