Walker Zimmerman sidelined four to six weeks with MCL Strain

News goes from bad to worse.

The vaulted FC Dallas defense is taking a big hit today as the club announced Walker Zimmerman will miss the next four-to-six weeks with a MCL strain in his left knee.

The defender suffered the injury in the first half on Sunday evening against the Houston Dynamo when he collided with Alberth Elis in the 24th minute.

The team’s press release stated that Zimmerman had a MRI yesterday to confirm the injury.

Now the club will be without him and his partner Matt Hedges, who was called into national team duty for the next couple weeks. Oscar Pareja has already rotated in some defenders in recent weeks with Atiba Harris getting a run at center back on Sunday night and rookie Walker Hume last Thursday in Chicago.

This certainly comes at a rough time for the club given that after this week, they’ll be on a three-game road trip with a US Open Cup match sandwiched in the middle.
