US Open Cup 2017: FC Dallas learns potential fourth round opponents

Title defense could start off on the road.

The road back to another US Open Cup for FC Dallas is about to begin as the fourth round draw took place today in Chicago to determine which teams would be hosting.

FC Dallas will either host USL’s Tulsa Roughnecks or go on the road to battle fellow Texan side San Antonio FC.

Currently the fourth round is slated for June 14, which comes sandwiched between two Cascadia road games for FC Dallas. On June 10, FC Dallas will be in Portland battling the Timbers and then the following weekend on June 17, they will be in Vancouver against the Whitecaps.

All of that is apart of a three-game road trip in June.

Should they win that match, it will likely set up a Texas Derby once again in the USOC. Houston will get the winner of NASL’s North Carolina FC and the USL’s Charlotte Independence.

What do you make of this draw for FC Dallas?
