FC Dallas will continue to be the loan unbeaten team in Major League Soccer for another week following a 1-1 draw with New York City FC on Sunday night.

Kellyn Acosta scored the only Dallas goal in the first half, his third goal of the season.

The game was hotly contested throughout but the visitors nearly struck first. In the 15th minute with Jack Harrison. Rodney Wallace started the play in midfield where he found Ben Sweat on the rings. Sweat crossed the ball into the box where Harrison was able to turn on his defender and put in a shot that went just wide of the far post.

Dallas was able to respond and get the first goal in the 20th minute from Acosta. Michael Barrios began the play on the right wing where he cased a ball down and then laid the ball off to Urruti who then poked it through to Acosta. The Dallas Homegrown then one-timed a shot to beat Sean Johnson.

Dallas came out with a lot of energy to begin the second half. In the 53rd minute, Urruti nearly doubled the lead after Carlos Gruezo picked off a ball in midfield and played it long to the other side of the field to Barrios. The Colombian winger then played the ball back to Urruti who then hit a shot at a tough angle that hit off the post.

Dallas nearly responded in the 71st minute on a breakaway play with Barrios and Cristian Colman. The ball was played up the field by Acosta to Barrios who then passed the ball across the defense to Colman who then put in a low shot that Johnson was able to get a hand on.

FC Dallas returns to action next week when they host the San Jose Earthquakes.
