Generation adidas Cup 2017: FCD U16s win their second match

FCD rebounded with a win against RSL U16s

FC Dallas U16s rebounded from their Friday loss to Independiente Del Valle on Sunday. The U-16s would go on to gain goals from Nathan Toledo and Brayan Padilla, en route to a 2-0 victory over MLS rival academy Real Salt Lake U16s.

The victory gave FCDY hope to still advance out of the group, as they simply needed GA Cup favorites, Real Madrid, to defeat Independiente Del Valle to set up a winner-takes-all match on Tuesday. Unfortunately for the FCD:

The 2-1 victory by Independiente Del Valle, was a huge upset, as Real Madrid Juvenil C had gone undefeated (25 wins - 2 draws) in their league, and had recently won the prestigious Al Kass International Tournament. In one fell swoop, Independiente Del Valle eliminated both the GA Cup favorites (Real Madrid), and the GA Cup host (FCD).

Despite the bad news for the FCD U16s, it was actually a good day for the FCD Academy as a whole:

It was also a good bounce back day for MLS academies, as they rebounded from a winless first day against International teams, to finish with more victories than losses on the second day. Results can be found on the official MLS Generation adidas Cup page.
