The unbeaten streak to start the 2017 season continues for FC Dallas as they downed Sporting Kansas City 1-0.

Maynor Figueroa scored the lone goal for FC Dallas in the win that helped push their home unbeaten streak to 12 games dating back to last season.

FC Dallas nearly got on the board in the 15th minute thanks to a quick counter attack started by Carlos Gruezo. The Ecuadorian found Roland Lamah on the right side who then dribbled it up the field 30 yards before laying it off to Maxi Urruti in the penalty box. Urruti beat the keeper and found the back of the net but he was whistled offside.

Urruti had another chance ten minutes later. Gruezo won the ball again in the midfield and played Lamah on the right side. Lamah corralled the ball on the end line before playing an open Urruti in the penalty box but his shot was skied over the goal.

The best chance for Dallas in the first half came in the 38th minute on another counter attack set up by Gruezo. The ball was played out of the Sporting end where Gruezo was able to pick it up and play it off to Lamah who was streaking into the penalty box. Lamah put in a shot to the far post where Tim Melia was able to push it out to safety.

Dallas finally made a break through in the 77th minute on a header from Figeruoa. Michael Barrios set up the goal when he drove to the end line and then chipped the ball across the goal where Figueroa was there to head it into the back of the net.

FC Dallas returns to action next week when they host the Portland Timbers.
