Dallas Cup 2017: FC Dallas advances in Super Group

FCD advances for the second year in a row.

FC Dallas

The FC Dallas U18 defeated Maccabi Haifa FC yesterday 1-0, behind a set piece goal off a header from team captain Brandon Terwege.

With the win FCD finished the group undefeated with two wins and a draw. They finished tied atop the group with Liga MX side Monterrey Rayados, but FCD advanced due to greater goal differential (+7) compliments of the big 5-0 win over Everton FC.

The group win, sets up a huge Semifinals showdown against 2015 Dallas Cup winners and two times champions Corritiba (Brazil).

Corritiba advanced by getting a 1-1 draw yesterday against Manchester United FC, in a hard fought match that saw tempers flare:

Corritiba also eliminated Chivas U19 and former Dallas Homegrown player Alejandro Zendejas.

FCD vs Corritiba will take place Friday night, 7pm (CST), and will be streamed live on the Dallas Cup Facebook page. FC Dallas will look to become the first MLS academy side to ever win the Dallas Cup Super Group.
