The week continues on here as FC Dallas is getting ready for a Friday night match in San Jose.
// FC Dallas //
Yesterday we took a good look at the keeper competition going on, the shape of the team and a few other notes.
FC Dallas academy teams continues to roll on in the Dallas Cup here in all age brackets. The other youth teams had a little harder time in their second games though.
Go vote now folks! Jesse Gonzalez had several big saves on Saturday night.
Clavijo took in some questions about how the league can improve in terms of salary cap numbers and things of that nature. I wasn’t shocked to hear some of his suggestions either.
// MLS //
While the Rapids had a hell of a 2016 season, it appears they are already hitting the reset button on a few things this year. I would gladly take Dillion Powers off their hands if they aren’t going to use him.
To be fair, the entire LA team delivered last week against Montreal, but I don’t feel like that is saying much right now.
And here is another weekend recap of sorts. I think it is fair to say that Dax McCarty would thrive with about any MLS team these days.
This is a very interesting look at how we take in what we see from the various formations from around the league.
// World Cup //
The 2026 World Cup was already going to be a doozy but throw in some additional venues in Mexico and Canada and we have ourselves a real party. I’m slowly coming around to this idea.
The 60-10-10 split in games shows that this was truly going to be the US’s tournament but they wanted to throw the others a bone.
Start saving your money now, lord knows how expensive it will be to get tickets.
In a way, this is the dawn of a new World Cup.
