FC Dallas training update ahead of the Sporting KC game

Oscar Pareja and co. prepare for Saturday's match vs Sporting Kansas City

Preston Wetherington

Oscar Pareja and his men set out to Advocare Field 1 today as they prep for their trip to Kansas City to take on Matt Besler and co. People often say pictures are worth 1,000 words. Below are 15,000 words from today’s training session.

Some takeaways from training today that I noticed were the large emphasis on set pieces today. They are working on some crafty plays to potentially catch SKC off guard on corners and free kicks.

I was also particularly impressed with 17-year-old Paxton Pomykal. He was able to hold his own against powerful players like Hernan Grana and Maynor Figueroa. It may not bee too long before we see the young Homegrown in action.

One last takeaway is to not expect many changes in the starting lineup, as when they lined up for their scrimmage, it was fairly mixed as to who was on each side, but more focus was put on the starters from last week versus LA Galaxy.

FC Dallas jets off on Friday and play Sporting Kansas City at 8:00 on TXA Channel 21.
