With the CONCACAF Champions League semifinal match between FC Dallas and Pachuca next week is fast approaching, it was only a matter of time before social media battle lines would be crossed. Monday, that is exactly what happened, just not with your favorite team.
The Montreal Impact decided to send FC Dallas a token of their support on Monday:
Bonjour @FCDallas, check your mailbox, we're sending a little luck your way. Pachuca ain't got nothing on you! #IMFC #DTID #CCL pic.twitter.com/efPv6nciHv

By Tuesday, Pachuca was not very happy with the Canadian side, and decided to deliver them a message:
¿Quién pidió mariachi?
— Club Pachuca (@Tuzos) March 7, 2017
Who asked for mariachi?
Qui a demandé mariachi?@impactmontreal @FCDallas pic.twitter.com/nobjXISFth
¿Quién pidió mariachi? Is a snarky reply that is said to all those people who interrupt in ongoing conversations between two individuals and whom no one invited to participate. A similar American response would be along the lines of “This is an A and B conversation, C your way out of it.”
For their part, FC Dallas simply sent an official response to the Impact’s gesture:
.@impactmontreal Roland Lamah dit merci beaucoup. On behalf of FC Dallas, Roland Lamah says thank you. pic.twitter.com/qFtoDOsndU

It didn’t take long before Montreal responded to Pachuca’s retort, with one of their own. A little reminder of what happened the last time both sides met:

That was then rookie Cameron Porter’s series deciding goal, in the final seconds of the 2015 CCL Semifinals.
Pachuca would not let Montreal get in the final word. Sending Montreal a reminder, that the Impact were not part of the 2016-2017 CCL:
We learn from defeats, and talk on the field.#Seeyoulateraligator @impactmontreal

Things have settled down between both clubs at the moment, but not their supporters.
