Mauro Diaz is no longer a Designated Player.

Major League Soccer is working hard to be more transparent and today they took a large leap towards that with an improved roster page for each club. FC Dallas’ page revealed a couple new wrinkles in the construction of this team that we didn’t know before.

First and foremost, Mauro Diaz is no longer a Designated Player. We can gather from this that the club bought down his existing deal with allocation money over the offseason. In the same regard, newcomer Anibal Chala is also a Young DP with the club.

Speaking of Chala, the roster page also reveals that he is currently on the disabled list. Big D Soccer reached out to the club to get to the root of why he is labeled that way. It turns out Chala had sports hernia surgery on February 28. According to FC Dallas, he will be out for one month rehabbing that.

Based on this page, the club also has two open roster spots at the moment. One in the senior roster and another in the supplemental. It should be noted that Adonijah Reid is not listed due to his roster status. The club has to wait until he turns 18 for him to be able to play due to FIFA regulations on international players under the age of 18.

What do you make of this new transparency? Anything else stand out to you on this page?
