FC Dallas vs LA Galaxy: Match Predictions

Let’s get this party started!

MLS: FC Dallas at LA Galaxy Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas kicks off the 2017 regular season campaign where they ended it in 2016, at the Stub Hub Center. Last time Dallas was in Southern California, they secured the first Supporter’s Shield in club history and the club’s first double winning season.

Dallas also has one of the longest active opening day winning streaks in the league (currently at 5) but hasn’t had to do it on the road during that streak. The staff are a bit mixed with the predictions this time around given the quick turnaround from the CCL match on Wednesday. Take a look at how we think things will shake out below:

Name Result for FCD FCD Score Opposition Score Commentary
Name Result for FCD FCD Score Opposition Score Commentary
Ben Lyon Win 1 0 Reggie Cannon to Maxi Urruti. Game, blouses.
Cody Gamond Win 1 0 Slow game, picking up in the 2nd half and culminating in a late Barrios goal.
Drew Epperley Draw 1 1 Games in LA are always a bit ugly anymore. I think the tired legs will show late but a draw is not a terrible way to begin this season.
Jack Hazzard Win 2 1 Colman with a brace!!
Jack Rouse Draw 2 2 Galaxy tied more than any team in the MLS last year. Dallas has a decent amount of time to rest since their game on Wednesday, but it's no small feat to win in LA. I don't think either side would be disappointed with a draw here.
Jared Tilley Draw 1 1 I saw the stat earlier today that FC Dallas hasn't won during the regular season in LA since 2009. As much as I think this current LAG team is ripe for the picking and isn't what it use to be, I do feel like the match will end in an draw. I want us to go up there and smash them, but have to keep reminding myself that it's a long season and it's just one match. More than that CCL is top priority. So, a draw it is.
Jason Poon Win 2 1 Trust in Papi
Jose Carmona Win 2 1 FCD will pull out a last minute victory, with both teams putting on very chaotic performances. LAG will simply allow a dangerous FCD side way too many shots on goal, and will suffer the consequences.
Mohammad Bushnaq Loss 1 2 LA's home opener under a new coach has them firing on all cylinders. FC Dallas rests a couple of players from the midweek match and ends up dropping their league opener.
Nathan Hill Win 2 1 LA leads most of the game until FCD leads a furious comeback via a Walker Zimmerman header and a golazo from Roland Lamah.
Preston Wetherington Win 2 0 I think LA Galaxy will need a few games to gel, and I think having two competitive matches under our belt will make a big difference.
Scott Hiney Win 1 0 Lamah scores in a surprisingly-defensive season-opener.

What do you guys think? Will FCD take all the points?
