Bring on Pachuca!
// FC Dallas //
We knew the game last night wasn’t going to be pretty at all. Most road games in the CCL are usually a slug fest of sorts. But in the end Dallas got a result that helped them move on.
We had some instant reactions posted late last night about the loss. Even with the loss there were plenty of positives to go around.
Our monthly outlook is back for another season as we took a gander at what our opening month of the season looks like for the club. I still think seven points is doable.
It is rare air that this group is starting to get into as the move along in this competition. I still hope they can achieve what no MLS side has been able to do in this version of the CCL.
As a part of the season preview for our mothership, here is an in-depth season preview for the club written by our own Chalkboard guy Jason Poon.
The league’s website has a nice season preview guide for each side up as well. A second place projected finish isn’t a bad call either.

If some how you are new to this MLS thing, I would urge you to start with this link. (Note: we also have a great new section of FCD 101 material to dive into as well)
All the bloggers on the SBN Soccer side of things were tasked with ranking the 22 clubs ahead of the season. FCD came out on top of the Western Conference.
Can FCD be better than just a great regular season team? I think so. The eggs are going to be firmly in the CCL and MLS Cup baskets this year. Not the Shield.
With the NY-Vancouver matchup getting the lone all-Mexican quarterfinal winner, it sets up a nice MLS vs Liga MX scenario. Which if we are being honest, is what both leagues really want anyways.
It seems early to talk about it but we know have an idea of when this madness will resume for FCD. Also that video at the top of the page is wonderful.
