World Cup Qualifying: Three FC Dallas Players Earn Call Ups

Walker Zimmerman, Kellyn Acosta and Maynor Figueroa will represent their respective countries

MLS: Orlando City SC at FC Dallas Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas and Homegrown Player, Kellyn Acosta along with defender Walker Zimmerman have been called up by Bruce Arena to represent the US of A in a pair of upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Honduras and Panama.

A familiar face will also be suiting up for Honduras, as Maynor Figueroa has also received a call up and is likely to face his club teammates on Friday, March 24 at Avaya Stadium. Kick off for that match is scheduled to be at 5:30pm CT on FS1 and Univision.

Zimmerman’s call up was no surprise given his performance drew rave reviews from USMNT Head Coach Bruce Arena after Walker’s January camp. This call up could give Acosta his second World Cup Qualifying appearance after appearing against St. Vincent and the Grenadines back in September 2, 2016.

Disappointingly, Matt Hedges did not get a call up, despite being this club’s best defender for the past four seasons.

Who’s excited to see a little Walker/Acosta represent the Yanks? What’s it going to take for Hedges to get a nod? Will you be rooting for Maynor and Honduras too?
