FC Dallas vs Pachuca: Match Predictions

Bring it Mexico!

MLS: FC Dallas at Los Angeles Galaxy Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas continues their quest to be the first MLS side to win the CONCACAF Champions League with the opening leg of the semi-finals tonight against Mexican side, Pachuca.

Oscar Parejar rested starters against Sporting Kansas City over the weekend, and because of the referee strike, Pachuca also comes in well rested.

Our staff are mostly optimistic, but tentatively with a majority of us seeing Dallas getting a positive result here but not without conceding the important away goal.

FCD v PAC Match Predictions

Name Result for FCD FCD Score Opposition Score Commentary
Name Result for FCD FCD Score Opposition Score Commentary
Ben Lyon Win 3 1 Home cooking and the ground game work to near perfection, but a goal in the mountains could very well be necessary.
Cody Gamond Win 2 1
Drew Epperley Win 2 1 FCD will get the win but I see them also giving up an important away goal in the process.
Etan Cohn Win 3 2 Urruti scores in the first half. Pachuca comes back and takes a lead. Second half goals from Colmán and substitute Javier Morales salvage a win, but at the price of 2 away goals.
Jack Hazzard Draw 2 2 Urutti, Colman grab a pair for FCD
Jared Tilley Win 3 1 FCD is able to come out shooting and get 3 goals on the night. The only downer on the evening is an away goal that was conceded. Overall, a very excited night in Frisco.
Jason Poon Win 3 1
Jose Carmona Win 2 0 It will be a tense close game through out. Barrios will score his 1st goal of the season early in the second half. Pachuca will push late to get the road goal, only to be caught in a counter by Tesho.
Mohammad Bushnaq Win 2 1 FC Dallas squeaks out the result at home. Will it be enough?
Phil Luetchford Win 2 0 Dallas catches a weakened Pachuca off-guard with 2 fast-break goals down the right flank in the first half. The second half settles down and is an even stalemate.
Preston Wetherington Draw 1 1 This is much more difficult competition than Arabe Unido. With Pachuca having the weekend off due to the referee strike, they are well rested and ready to take us on. I think we will draw, but they will get a vital away goal to make it difficult when we travel down south.
Ryan Scanlon Draw 2 2 FC Dallas gets ahead quickly with a 2 goal lead. Everything looks to be coming together and paradise is spotted on the horizon. However, the Dark Tower turns its' eye onto the field and Pachuca comes back to painfully tie it.
Scott Hiney Win 3 1 It's a wide-open game as FCD knows they'll need to score some home goals, but they do give up a costly away goal in doing so. Urruti, Lamah and Hedges score.

What do you guys think? Will Dallas take care of business? Or will the strength of Pachuca be too much to handle at this stage of the competition?
