FC Dallas vs Pachuca: Preview, TV schedule and how to watch online

Can FC Dallas get off to a hot start again in the CCL?

Noah Riffe

The big run to a CONCACAF Champions League title continues for FC Dallas tomorrow night as they host Liga MX side Pachuca.

FC Dallas is coming off a strong performance in the quarterfinals where they hammered Panamanian side Arabe Unido 4-0 in the first leg. They stumbled late in the second leg 2-1, advancing on a 5-2 aggregate. Pachuca on the other hand played a tough draw against Costa Rican side Saprissa before putting the hammer to them in the second leg in a 4-0 win.

FC Dallas notes:

Injury update. Mauro Diaz (Achilles), Anibal Chala (sports hernia), Victor Ulloa (sports hernia) and Ryan Hollingshead (back/neck) are all out for this one.

Key player for FCD: Cristian Colman. FCD needs the young Designated Player to step up and perform well in this opening leg. Colman will get his chances against a tough Pachuca defense but he has to make the most of them and finish them this time around.

Biggest question: Can FCD withstand the pressure of the big game?

This FCD team is battle tested for games like this these days. The preseason trip to Argentina helped get them ready but also getting to rest some key guys over the weekend in Kansas City was a welcome sight to see as the depth proved they could carry the load and get a result.

Pachuca Notes:

Low scoring. While in Liga MX play, Pachuca only has two games in nine matches where they have scored multiple goals.

Key player for Pachuca: Jorge Hernandez. That midfield battle between him and Carlos Gruezo/Kellyn Acosta will be worth the price of admission.

Pachuca vs FCD. The two teams have met just once, in the group stage of the 2007 SuperLiga. The drew 1-1 at Toyota Stadium with Carlos Ruiz and Christian Gimenez providing the goals.

Injuries:

OUT: Chucky Lozano
