Maximiliano Urruti was a spark that FC Dallas went out and got before the 2016. Most had hoped he would be the guy up top for the club in the scoring department and in some ways he did do well. His nine goals in 2016 lead the team (alongside Michael Barrios) but that wasn’t all that he brought to the table.
Urruti was a relentless worker on the field, causing turnovers and issues in opposing defenses that didn’t translate into stats on a score sheet each game.
This is a new year though for Urruti and FC Dallas. He has more competition in the likes of Designated Player Cristian Colman and a slew of Homegrown attackers like Jesus Ferreria and Bryan Reynolds to deal with in the depth charts.
Urruti won’t be asked to be ‘the guy’ this year in the Dallas attack but he will be a key part in what this team does.
