FC Dallas vs Arabe Unido: Preview, TV schedule and how to watch online

Can FC Dallas hold on to advance to the semifinals?

Noah Riffe

The second leg of the quarterfinals is here for FC Dallas as they take their four goal lead to Panama as they battle Arabe Unido one more time.

FCD got two goals from Kellyn Acosta last week in the rout over the Panamanian champions. Cristian Colman also chipped in his first goal with FC Dallas.

FC Dallas notes:

Injury update. Mauro Diaz (Achilles), Victor Ulloa (sports hernia) and Ryan Hollingshead (back/neck) are all out for this one. Anibal Chala (hamstring) is questionable.

Shuffled or not shuffled? Oscar Pareja has the fun task of either going all out again with a strong starting lineup or mixing things up for the first time in 2017. My gut tells me he’ll mix up his lineup with some guys like Jesse Gonzalez, Javier Morales, Atiba Harris and Tesho Akindele out of the gate.

Key player for FCD: Matt Hedges. Really this should be a two parter with Hedges and Walker Zimmerman, who were both dominant last week at home. Both will be called to be a calming force in the back as this game could be gritty and ugly.

Biggest question: Can FC Dallas withstand and ugly game to advance?

I think advancing is one thing in this competition but doing so without any injuries or suspension could be another. I would fully expect Arabe Unido to play an ugly game that will force some bad tackles or fouls out of FCD. It is a road game in CONCACAF after all, so we should probably expect some cards. As long as they come away without anything bad and advance, we should be happy.

Arabe Unido Notes:

Key player for Arabe Unido: Jose Gonzalez. Look for Gonzalez and Erinco Small to carry the load up front for Arabe in this home leg. Both were quiet in the game in Frisco but playing in Panama could be another story.

Suspended: Fidel Caesar (caution accumulation)

Int'l Duty: Aldo Ciel, Chamell Asprilla (Panama U-20s)
