2017 MLS SuperDraft pick Walker Hume was signed today, as per usual, the terms of the contract were not released.
Hume gives the club much needed depth at center back, a position that looked dangerously thin heading into the season with the departure of Zach Loyd during the Expansion Draft. Hume also gives FCD an extra Walker and as far as Texas goes, you can never have too many “Walkers” in any situation, much less soccer.
Hume was born in Dallas, but moved around to different parts of Texas growing up. Hume attended Westlake High School in Austin and won the 2013 Premier Development League Championship with the Austin Aztex. His center back partner at that time was Homegrown Aaron Guillen.
Hume performed well during FCD’s recent preseason trip to Argentina, logging 195 minutes and adding a game-winner against River Plate’s reserves.
The addition of Hume fills out the roster for FC Dallas as they head into the regular season.
