With the preseason tour in Argentina rapidly coming to a close, FC Dallas battled Argentine champions, Lanus, in a couple of matches.
Match 1: 1-1 Draw
The first team featured a strong lineup of Chris Seitz, Atiba Harris, Matt Hedges, Maynor Figueroa, Roland Lamah, Kellyn Acosta, Carlos Gruezo, Hernan Grana, Michael Barrios, Maxi Urruti and Tesho Akindele. The first team drew Lanus 1-1.
Harris was the lone goal scorer for FCD, converting a header off a corner. While questionable at times at defense, Harris’ size and experience as an attacking player gives Dallas a significant boost on the attacking end.
Match 2: 0-2 Loss
In the second match, Oscar Pareja gave the young guns a chance to shine. The line up featured: Jesse Gonzalez, Anibal Chala, Aaron Guillen, Walker Hume, Reggie Cannon, Jacori Hayes, Carlos Cermeno, Paxton Pomykal, Javier Morales, Jesus Ferreira and Cristian Colman. (OK, Morales isn’t a young gun but you get the idea.)
FCD conceded the first goal with an errant back pass from Chala that went past Gonzalez, who went in the other direction. The second goal came off of a penalty, despite Gonzalez getting his hand to it but ultimately unable to keep it out of the back of the net.
