FC Dallas to face Chattanooga FC in 2018 preseason

FC Dallas will prepare for the 2018 campaign with a friendly against the NPSL side

We now know FC Dallas will begin preparing for the 2018 MLS season and 2018 CONCACAF Champions League as early as the first week of February.

The NPSL’s Chattanooga FC announced Tuesday morning it will face FC Dallas at home on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 12:00 p.m.

It’s a major matchup for the Chattanooga, Tennessee squad, who play in the National Premier Soccer League. The NPSL isn’t technically designated within the US Soccer system, but is commonly considered a fourth-division league.

We can assume FC Dallas won’t field a first-choice lineup with their first CCL action more than two weeks after the friendly, but it will be interesting to see what kind squad, possibly youth-driven, Oscar Pareja throws out.

Chattanooga FC was founded in 2009 and appeared in the NPSL championship four times, but have never claimed the title. The team is home to the impressively-large Finley Stadium, which seats 20,668 — 168 more fans than Toyota Stadium’s pre-renovation capacity of 20,500.
