The off-season rebuild for FC Dallas continues, as they announced today that they’ve retained the services of Maynor Figueroa for another year.
Figueroa has been a versatile player for Oscar Pareja’s side, capable of playing centerback and leftback. In 2017, he gave FCD his best offensive performance in MLS with 3 goals and an assist.
Figueroa is also an incredibly experienced international player, having been capped 147 times for Honduras and was recently their captain until retiring from international play a little under a month ago.
According to FCDallas.com, Figueroa’s son is in the FCD Academy, which was one of the reasons why Maynor wanted to stay.
Figueroa has been a key fixture for this Dallas defense for the past two seasons. Retaining his services was a crucial piece for Dallas as they look to rebound from their 2017 season.
