The veteran defender will remain in Dallas for another season.

The puzzle pieces are beginning to take shape on the FC Dallas offseason. Following the roster cuts two weeks ago and Sunday’s trade of Walker Zimmerman, the team has been left with plenty of holes in the defense.

That should improve with veteran Maynor Figueroa returning.

The re-signing hasn’t been officially announced but if this report out of Honduras is any indication, Figueroa will be apart of the club once again in 2018.

Figueroa was an important part of the defense in 2016 and again in 2017. The Honduran international all 26 games that he appears in this past season, scoring three goals and adding in one assist. He split time between playing left back and center back, two areas that the club still lacks bodies in at the moment.

Dan Hunt recently said that the team would be building from the back this offseason, and resigning a veteran like Figueroa is a good start in my mind.

What do you make of this news? Happy to see Figueroa stay in Dallas for another season?
