Welcome to another week of Big D Soccer’s coverage of your favorite players with ties to FC Dallas, the FCD Academy, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Weston McKennie made a memorable debut with the USMNT, Keaton Parks spent the International Break practicing with the Benfica first team, and rumors are surfacing of a possible return to Colombia for Fabian Castillo.

Weston McKennie (AP - Schalke 04/Bundesliga): Weston McKennie made his USMNT debut last night, and got the start at Portugal. Weston wasted little time in announcing his arrival:

Simply a dazzling display by McKennie, who at 19 years old, becomes the 3rd youngest player to score in his USMNT debut. In the 54th minute, McKennie nearly added a second goal:

Weston lived up to the hype he was receiving from some (including Big D Soccer), and might have actually surpassed the expectations of most USMNT fans. ESPNFC, MLSsoccer, and most sites, have wasted little time in naming McKennie the “Man of the Match” in the USMNT 1-1 draw against Portugal.

Weston was all over the field. Let’s take a look at the following Gallery:

The first image shows - 1 goal, hit the crossbar, 2 shots, 60 touches, 31/39 (79.5%) passing, 1 key pass. The second image shows - 8 tackles, 10 recoveries, 2 interceptions (That’s 20 defensive actions!). The 3rd image simply shows all 60 touches.

Keaton Parks (DFW - Benfica II/Segunda Liga): Keaton is spending the International Break training with Benfica first team. This is Keaton’s second time since joining Benfica II, that he has been asked to train with the first team. A good sign that Benfica manager Rui Vitoria wants to keep a close eye on the young American’s development.

Keaton is an intriguing prospect, who stands 6-4, but has used his feathery passing, and high soccer IQ, to excel in his short time with Benfica II.

David Texeira (FCD - Vitoria Guimaraes/Primeira Liga): David suited up, but did not play Saturday in Portugal Cup action against UD Oliveirense (Portugal 2nd Division). Vitoria would go on to suffer a humiliating 4-1 home defeat against a team at the bottom of the Segunda Liga Table.

USL & NASL - Regular season completed

HH&A’s Where are they now?: Adrian Ezequiel Cirigliano

Ezequiel played for FC Dallas in 2015, arriving on loan with an option to buy from River Plate. Ezequiel showed signs of potential at central defensive midfielder, but never quite put it all together. Ezequiel was released by FC Dallas at the end of the 2015 season, after having only made eight appearances for the team.

This July, Ezequiel signed on a free transfer with Ascenso MX side Atletico Zacatepec. He is currently a starter on the Apertura Playoffs bound team, alongside former FC Dallas teammate Alex Zendejas. That’s right, if you’re jonesing for some soccer, Atletico Zacatepec enters their Apertura Playoffs with 2 starters in the midfield that have FC Dallas ties.
