MLS: Colorado Rapids at Vancouver Whitecaps FC Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas heads out to the Mile High city this weekend for a big must-win game against the Colorado Rapids.

Here are a few key points for Saturday’s game.

Who is Steven Aigner?

Aigner made his first start for the Rapids two weeks ago against Dallas and he’s quickly given Rapids fans something to get excited about late in the season. The 30-year old German arrived on a free transfer in July and has finally worked his way into the team. In his second start for the Rapids he was the difference maker as he notched a goal in a 2-1 win over the Impact last week. His well placed header didn’t do much for Colorado’s play off hopes, but it did make life a little bit more bareable for Rapids fans.

Well dressed fans

Rivalry aside, the Rapids partnership with the Denver based boutique, Jiberish, has led to some pretty cool MLS merch.

Not that I would ever wear anything Rapids related, but credit where credit is due, the whole collection is pretty sweet. I would love to see something similar with FC Dallas, maybe from the Dallas boutique Rye51 that has a relationship with Walker Zimmerman. Or at the least something from Express which is currently running an ad campaign with FC Dallas players.

Can we just agree to play with 10 men?

Dallas have played some of their best soccer this Summer down to ten men against the Red Bulls. Colorado upset the Impact while both teams were down a man. I really think it’s in both team’s best interests to sit a man out for this game. If Pablo Mastroeni were still with Colorado then I have no doubt that him and Pareja could have come to some sort of gentleman’s agreement to have a player sent off early.

What are you looking forward to against Colorado? Three points? Losing so you don’t have to force yourself to watch the games anymore? Did you not even read the article and just want to call for Reggie Cannon to start? Well make your voice heard in the comments!
