MLS: FC Dallas at Orlando City SC Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Congratulations to NO ONE for getting the most votes after FC Dallas’ disappointing foray into the upper midwest. What a mess of a game that was.

This past week was a “do or die” week for FC Dallas. Everything is on the line at this point in the season. Do you want to stake a claim for the playoffs? Do you want to make things interesting? Do you want to end the season on a positive note?

The week got off to a good start for FC Dallas when they hosted the Colorado Rapids at home, putting together a fairly tidy game that while not perfect was a significant confidence boost for this struggling squad. They kept Colorado out of the goal. They went up early and put their foot down to control the game. It was a solid performance and a huge 3 points.

Following that, FC Dallas went into Orlando’s home turf and kept things tidy defensively on Saturday. There was a lot frustrating about this game, including a missed handball by the ref and FC Dallas’ inability to find a goal, but there is still plenty of positive to take from a road draw. That point could be vital.

Of course... could be... is the key word with the news that FC Dallas may have violated a lineup submission rule. There is a chance that the point could be forfeited. If so, it would be representative of how this season has gone for them. Regardless, FC Dallas likely controls their own destiny if they can get three more points this week and keep their momentum going forward in their final games.

But man, it will be tight.

I just don’t know what to make of this squad. For now, it seems that Javier Morales has cemented a starting spot until Kellyn is rested or gets some confidence back. The lineup is better, punishing teams who want to lock down on Mauro by opening up some other creative avenues. The defense, especially with Walker out of the lineup, looks more cohesive as a whole. That’s definitely good if we get into the playoffs, since it may come down to our defense playing out of their minds if we want to advance.

Vote below. I do think a vote for Jesse Gonzalez and Matt Hedges are worthy across the two games. Both have been playing superbly. You can also toss some love around to others players for providing a spark here and there. Who will you vote for and why?
