Welcome to another week of Big D Soccer’s coverage of your favorite players with ties to FC Dallas, the FCD Academy, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Europe - International Break
Weston McKennie (AP - Schalke 04/Bundesliga): Weston did not suit up Saturday at Hertha BSC, due to his injury. Schalke 04 would get a 2-0 road victory, that sees them climb to 6th place in the Bundesliga Table.
Weston was back to full practice Wednesday, and should be available for selection Friday against visiting FSV Mainz 05.
Note: Weston suited up Friday, but did not play in Schalke 04’s 2-0 win over FSV Mainz 05
Keaton Parks (DFW - Benfica II/Segunda Liga): No match scheduled
David Texeira (FCD - Vitoria Guimaraes/Primeira Liga): David started Saturday at Vasco Da Gama Vidigueira, in the 3rd round of the Taça de Portugal . David scored a brace, as Vitoria G won 6-1, advancing to the next round.
Emerson Hyndman (DFW - AFC Bournemouth/EPL): Emerson still hasn’t gotten close to sniffing the match day 18 for Bournemouth. So even though there’s not much to support this rumour, it’s still better than what’s happening to Emerson in England:

Fabian Castillo (FCD - Trabzonspor/Super Lig): Fabian suited up Sunday, as Trabzonspor hosted 3rd place side Akhisar Belediyespor. It was an instant mismatch, as Akhisar Belediyespor ran out to a 3-0 halftime lead.
Fabian started the second half, as Trabzonspor looked to get a spark on offense. The move helped, as Fabian helped the attack get on track and Trabzonspor soon tallied a goal. It wasn’t enough, as the thing Trabzonspor really needed, was defensive help. Akhisar Belediyespor continued to run roughshod over the defenseless home side, and Trabzonspor would go on to get humiliated at home 6-1.
The lopsided loss, sees Trabzonspor drop to 11th place in the Super Lig Table.
Mexico - Apertura Torneo - International Break
Rogelio Funes Mori (DFW - Monterrey/Liga MX): Rogelio started Saturday at home against Pachuca. It didn’t take long, for Rogelio to put the match away:
It took only 27 minutes for Rogelio to notch the match winning goal, his 6th of the season. Rogelio played 71 minutes as Los Rayados would go on to post a 2-0 victory.
Rogelio suited up yesterday, as Monterrey visited last place Puebla. Rogelio came on in the second half (64th minute), with Monterrey trailing 1-0. It wasn’t enough, as Los Rayados would go on to lose their first match of the season (across all competitions) 2-0.

Blas Perez (FCD) & Nicholas Hagen (AP - Municipal/Guatemala): Blas and Nick both started Sunday, as Municipal took on Comunicaciones. The game was a foul mired affair, that saw 9 yellows handed out. Hagan got his 6th clean sheet of the season, as Municipal had to settle for a 0-0 home draw.
The draw sees Municipal drop to 4th place in the Liga Nacional Table.
Moises Hernandez (FCD/AP - Comunicaciones/Guatemala): Moises started and played the full match in the 0-0 draw at Municipal.
The draw sees Comunicaciones to 7th place in the Liga Nacional Table.
Anibal Chala (FCD - LDU Quito, Loan/Ecuador): Anibal started Wednesday against visiting Fuerza Amarilla. Anibal played the full match, but did pick up a yellow card in the 94th minute, as LDU Quito won 3-1.
LDU Quito is red hot at the moment, as they are currently on a six-match unbeaten stretch. LDU Quito now sits 5th place in the Primera A Table, just four points out of 1st place.
Anibal has been everything that LDU Quito and their fans have dreamed of, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed:
The highlight of the article is this little nugget from Chala’s agent, Esteban Paz:
"Of course we have started several negotiations, among them is negotiating with the MLS and Dallas FC for the continuity of Anibal, at least for a prudent time that allows him to be back in a stellar position and the level that marked last year (with El Nacional), " Esteban Paz added.
Not only that, but the fandom has noticed that Chala clearly has his heart set on a return to MLS, and Chala himself, sounds like he will be back:
I'm fully recovered so I'm working really hard, playing with passion and getting better... ⚽ https://t.co/35CsywNs0F— Aníbal Chalá Ayoví (@AnibalChala_ach) October 11, 2017
Let me tell you that I have been of the opinion that Chala would return to FCD next season all along. His combination of size, speed, youth, and potential, is just something that FCD lacks. FCD sorely lacks speed on the Left Wing, and Chala offers that in spades. Bring him home FCD, please!
