Both teams are coming off losses last weekend.
FC Dallas notes:
Injury update. There is still some question marks on Kellyn Acosta’s status as he missed last week’s game with a groin injury. We were told that he was held out to be more available for the double-game week.
One out. For the second straight game FC Dallas has one player suspended with Tesho Akindele earning this week’s dishonor.
Previous meeting. It wasn’t that long ago that these two squared off in a dreadful 0-0 draw that saw one Maxi Urruti goal called off through video replay.
Changes in the defense. FCD’s defense has been hit especially hard, weathering 24 of those 28 lineup changes in the last eight games – eight changes at center back, seven at defensive mid, three at left back, three at goalkeeper and one at right back.
Defensive issues. According to the club’s game notes, FC Dallas allowed just 19 goals in its first 19 games this season. It has allowed 23 goals in the last 10 games.
Key player for FCD: Michael Barrios. The Colombian winger has been involved in seven of the last eight goals since August 5.
Biggest Question: Will the short turn around actually help FC Dallas?
Getting over a bad loss is never an easy thing but sometimes a quick turn around is what you need to do it quickly. Dallas has had plenty of these three games in eight day spans to lean on from experience.
Key player for Colorado: Dominique Badji - Out of everyone that Colorado has, Badji is still the most dangerous player that they have. He’s scored in three straight games leading up to this one.
Injuries: OUT: F Kevin Doyle (concussion)
