Vancouver are coming off a big 3-1 win two weeks ago against Atlanta. They’ve been off from league play since then and will be well rested for this match.
FC Dallas notes:
Injury update. There is only one player on the injury report this week as Walker Zimmerman continues to rehab his MCL strain.
Finishing strong against Vancouver. According to the game notes, FC Dallas has outscored Vancouver 5‐1 in the final 15 minutes of matches over the course of the teams’ 16 regular‐season matches. Dallas also holds an 8‐1 advantage in goals scored in the final 15 minutes of the first half.
Key player for FCD: Maxi Urruti. Getting Wednesday night off was a good thing for Urruti as he’ll he fortunate enough to not have to deal with Kendal Waston this weekend, who is out with an injury. If Urruti can be the pest that we know he can be in front of goal, FCD could sneak out with some points.
Biggest Question: What kind of gas is in the tank for FCD?
While the depth is starting to appear well for the club, the travel and short time between games is a concern for this match. FCD had very little time to rest and recover following Wednesday’s win in the USOC before traveling to Vancouver, their longest road trip of the season.
Key player for Vancouver: Fredy Montero. The former Sounder has done well this season for Vancouver, by leading the Caps in goals with five. Montero has done well against Dallas in the past, scoring four goals and bringing in four assists.
At home. The Whitecaps have found their groove playing at home and are winners of five of their last seven at BC Place.
