Can FC Dallas remain unbeaten as they head back out on the road?

MLS: FC Dallas at Real Salt Lake Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

The month of May kicks off for FC Dallas tomorrow night as they head to Utah to battle Real Salt Lake for the first time this season.

RSL comes into this match on a two-game losing streak where they have given up six goals.

FC Dallas notes:

Injury update. Right now it is still Mauro Diaz and his Achilles recovery. He’ll be out for this one again while keeper Chris Seitz is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.

Going back. Javier Morales will be making his first trip to Utah this season as a member of FC Dallas. Morales spent ten seasons with RSL, where he became quite the legend in helping them lift a MLS Cup trophy and coming close in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Early goals please and thank you. Dallas is the only team in the league that has yet to score in the first 30 minutes of any MLS game so far this year.

Key player for FCD: Morales. Last week it was Maxi Urruti going up against his old club in Portland and this week it is Morales with RSL. You know this is a big one for Morales and he will want to prove he still was worth having when he faces his old team.

Biggest Question: Will FCD avoid playing down to their competition?

This is something I’ve been worried about a lot this season out of this group. At times we have seem them be really good against teams that they know they should definitely beat but then there are moments, like against Minnesota or San Jose, where they struggled to look like a team that should be in contention for a MLS Cup. RSL isn’t a terrible team by any stretch but given their injury situation right now, they should be a team FCD runs all over.

Real Salt Lake Notes:

Key player for RSL: Joao Plata. We know all too well that Plata can be a crafty player around goal. he hasn’t been able to do a ton so far this season but he still remains an exciting player to watch out for.
