Squad Selection: Will Oscar Pareja mix things up against Minnesota?

New, 8 comments

After a rough game in Mexico, should there be big changes in the lineup?

Noah Riffe

Tuesday’s grueling defeat at Pachuca sent FC Dallas out of the Champions League for good this spring. Now the club has to turn their attention to the regular season again as they come home to host expansion side Minnesota United FC for the first time.

Pareja has juggled his lineups a decent amount already this season given the four extra games in the Champions League. But given the turnaround from Tuesday night and traveling on Wednesday, should we see wholesale changes against Minnesota?

Here is what we know going into the match in terms of availability:

SUSPENDED: Maynor Figueroa (retroactive red card from the New England game)

OUT: Mauro Diaz (Achilles)

QUESTIONABLE: Ryan Hollingshead (neck), Anibal Chala (sports hernia)

PROBABLE: Maxi Urruti

^ Hollingshead and Chala traveled to Mexico with the club and played in a scrimmage on last Friday. Both are still in preseason mode, so expecting them in the 18 may be a stretch.

* Urruti was banged up after the Pachuca game but trained with the starters on Thursday morning.
