FC Dallas vs Colorado Rapids: Preview, TV schedule and how to watch online

FC Dallas looks to gain three more points this weekend as they travel to Colorado.

FC Dallas makes their big playoff push to begin October as they battle rivals Colorado Rapids for the third and final time this season.

Dallas knocked off Colorado just last week in a 2-0 win to help end their ten-game summer slump. The Rapids are coming off a weekend over the Montreal Impact.

FC Dallas notes:

Injury update. No injury remarks to discuss this week and hopefully there isn’t one late scratch that causes an uproar.

Call of duty. FC Dallas is hit pretty heavily in this department with two youth internationals gone (Paxton Pomykal and Bryan Reynolds) and Kellyn Acosta and Maynor Figueroa out for World Cup qualifiers.

Previous meeting. It feels like yesterday in some ways that FC Dallas beat Colorado 2-0 off goals in the opening ten minutes from Figueroa and Roland Lamah.

Success at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. FC Dallas has not lost in its last four trips to Commerce City, dating back to a 1-0 win on October 18, 2014.

Fewest losses in the West. According to the club’s game notes, FC Dallas currently has the second-fewest losses in the Western Conference. Seattle and FCD both have nine. Sporting KC has lost just seven times.

Key player for FCD: Matt Hedges. The veteran center back has been pretty stellar as of late, helping lead the defense to three shutouts in four games. Dallas will need to lean on his experience and leadership in the back to help get through these next couple of games.

Biggest Question: Will this game be a bit of a let down?

Getting the winless streak out of the way was a big deal last week but now Dallas has an important game-in-hand against others that they are tied with in the standings (Salt Lake and San Jose). They need to cash this one in and make a big point to help their playoff case but games like this have had a way of getting away from Dallas in the past. Avoiding the early let down will be key.

Colorado Notes:

Key player for Colorado: Dominique Badji - Out of everyone that Colorado has, Badji is still the most dangerous player that they have. He’s scored in three straight games leading up to this one.

Injuries: OUT: F Kevin Doyle (concussion), M Micheal Azira

Suspended: Jared Watts
