FC Dallas vs Colorado Rapids: Preview, TV schedule and how to watch online

FC Dallas hopes to lock up a playoff spot with a win on Saturday.

MLS: FC Dallas at Colorado Rapids Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas begins a busy and important week as they host the Colorado Rapids on Saturday evening.

Colorado enters the match fresh off a loss to the New England Revolution last weekend while FCD is off a win over Portland.

A win for FCD books them a place in the post season.

FC Dallas notes:

Injury update. The only injury is still with Zach Loyd. Really nothing new on that front unfortunately.

Scoring by committee. According to the clubs’ game notes, FC Dallas has found goals from all over the place this season with six players having found the back of the net for FCD in its last four MLS Matches. That is nothing new. FC Dallas currently has ten players with at least two goals this season, tied with Vancouver for the second‐most in the league. Only Philadelphia with 11 has more players with at least two goals this year.

Assists from Diaz. Mauro Diaz became just the sixth player (Jason Kreis and Ronnie O’Brien did it twice) in club history to record 11 assists in a single season, last match. David Ferreira (13) was the last to accomplish the feat in his MVP campaign of 2010. The club record for assists in a season is 15 (Kreis, 1999).

Key player for FCD: Maxi Urruti. Most of Urruti’s goals this season have come at home and this has to be one of the games that he steps up and proves again to us all why FCD went out to get him last offseason.

Biggest question: How much weight will be placed on this game as compared to next Tuesday?

Another week with another couple games on the menu. FCD has done a lot of these two or three game weeks this season already. But with Tuesday’s game against New England in the USOC final, just how important will this game be? We know this game is important in clinching a playoff berth, but also winning a trophy is huge.

Colorado Notes:

Injury update. Out: Jermaine Jones (knee), Dillon Serna (knee).

Key player for Colorado: Shkëlzen Gashi. The Colorado attack isn’t a world beater but Gashi is one tough player that have a nose towards goal.
