Today is the final reveal day for’s annual 24 Under 24 list. So far FC Dallas has had three players make this year’s list with Walker Zimmerman at #11, Jesse Gonzalez at #9 and Carlos Gruezo at #8. The final FCD player to make the list today is Homegrown midfielder Kellyn Acosta at #4.

Up 10 full spots from last year, Acosta has definitely seen a massive amount of improvement this season. He’s minutes are up this season as he has made 20 starts in 28 games, going 2028 minutes. He’s brought in two goals and is having a career year in assists with five.

Here is what some of the scouts had to say about Acosta this year:

“In that holding midfield role, he’s a good ball-winner. Spacing wise, he knows how to make decisions as far as pressuring the ball, providing cover. I think he does a fantastic job of covering for his teammates.”

“Any time Acosta gets in the national team, it’s good for his development. You play him out of position and he’s going to learn from that and grow from that. Do I think at the international level that he’s going to play left back? I don’t, but I do think he can play outside back at that level. He’s got a lot of ability and he can be a dynamic player at an international level.”

What do you make of Acosta landing at #4? Disappointed he wasn’t higher or do you think that is just right?
