Is it the weekend yet?

24 Under 24: Gonzalez and Gruezo crack top ten | Big D Soccer

I was shocked to see Jesse Gonzalez in the list at all but I also felt Carlos Gruezo was a bit low compared to other players that are left on this list. We find out today where Kellyn Acosta lands.

The high five: East vs West |

Steve Davis checks in with his usual weekly piece over at the club’s website. Lots of great points in this edition from the decline of Robbie Keane, to labeling teams the best in MLS right now, to how damn good of a pickup Mauro Rosales has been for FC Dallas.

Five games that will shape the playoff race |

Yeah, that game with LA on Oct 1 is a pretty big one. So is that follow up in LA. Heck, all of them are big down the stretch for FCD right now.

Ranking the MLS logos for 2017 | Fox Soccer

Yeah, this is pure click bait. I got suckered into it yesterday to see where FCD landed (much too low). I honestly don’t have a ton of issues with the top three though. I may flip Minnesota to the top over Montreal but whatever, to each their own.

The Domfather: SKC’s latest tifo | The Blue Testament

I saw this thing last weekend and was blown away. I love tifos like this that call out one player in a big way. Can we please get one of Maxi Urruti doing some Robin Hood bow and arrow thing....or Mauro Diaz in Super Mario Brothers? Pretty please?

Is MLS giving young players a chance to shine? |

I would say it all depends on where you play and who your coach is. Obviously it works here for Oscar Pareja but we definitely don’t see it true elsewhere.

Lack of goals, strong defense leaves Rapids teetering | FourFourTwo

That defense can win a title in my mind but their pedestrian attack gives me reason and hope to think they’ll slip up a time or two down the stretch here.

NASL faces major shakeup |

One team is leaving for MLS, two (or more) could be leaving for the USL and then two could be folding due to money. But in their minds, they have plenty of chances to expand.
