USL Preview: Oklahoma City Energy FC vs Seattle Sounders 2

With playoffs looming, the Energy FC are in need of a consistent scorer.

Returning home from a disastrous, 4-0, defeat away in Portland last weekend, the Oklahoma City Energy FC will return home late Sunday night to take on fellow Western Conference club the Seattle Sounders 2.

Arguably coming off of their worse defeat this season, the OKC Energy will hope to regain form this weekend against the Major League Soccer reserve side. Knowing that a victory this weekend is critical, Jimmy Nielsen and his side will attempt to give everything they have. With the Energy currently resting at the fifth spot in the Western Conference, a win this Sunday could see them club climb the latter to third place.

A major concern for the OKC Energy this weekend, as per usual, is their inability to score at a consistent rate. In their last nine matches, the Energy have only been able to score a small total of four goals, which averages to a meager total of .44 goals scored per match, a stat that is unnerving for a club that hopes for playoff success.

Although Jimmy Nielsen went out and acquired two new attacking players within the past month, the new signings have yet to make a prolific impact on the offensive end. Furthermore, with strikers Colin Bonner and Danni Konig in sluggish goal droughts, the Energy have to rely on main substitute and Indy Eleven loanee Wojciech Wojcik. Upon joining OKC, Wojcik has scored four goals in 20 matches, a low goal total when ratioed. However, when the Polish striker scores, the Energy have yet to lose a match. Overall, with the Nielsen's club struggling to score, they should look to the Indy Eleven loanee for helpful boost.

Sunday night's match should prove to be a critical match for both clubs. As the Energy search for playoff supremacy, the Seattle Sounders 2 look to make a last-second playoff push.

Having been thumped in their previous match, many should expect for the Energy to come firing out the gates this Sunday night, potentially grabbing all three points at Taft Stadium.

Predicted Score: Energy win 2-0

OKC Energy FC: Konig, Craven, Byskov, Gonzalez, Thomas, Pitter, Ryden, Andrews, Hendrick, Harris, Laurendi
