FC Dallas vs LA Galaxy: USOC Preview, TV schedule and how to watch online

Two top teams square off with a trip to the USOC finals on the line.

MLS: FC Dallas at LA Galaxy Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas is back in action tomorrow night as they square off against the LA Galaxy in the semifinal round of the 2016 US Open Cup.

Both teams are coming into this game off good results. LA came from behind in Sunday’s game against New York to get a 2-2 draw; while FC Dallas is fresh off a win in the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League.

LA advanced to the semifinals after beating the Seattle Sounders 4-2. FC Dallas got here after getting a late game-winner by Fabian Castillo over Texas rivals Houston Dynamo.

LA has yet to lose this season at home, going 6-0-5 in MLS play and 2-0 in Open Cup games.

FC Dallas notes:

Injury update. The only injury is still with Zach Loyd. Concussions are a bummer.

Key player for FCD: Mauro Diaz. Now that Castillo is gone, the offense is really going to have to run more through Diaz. He already has ten assists on the season but FCD will need more from him on the road in this semifinal game. Big players come up in big games and Diaz will have to do that.

Biggest question: Can FCD handle all of LA’s stars?

One team that FCD has yet to face this season is LA. We know the two sides are doing well in league play but how FCD responds on the road in a game like this will be really telling for the final month of the season when the two square off twice in October. FCD has done well against teams with big names in the past this season but LA is able to hit you from all over with guys like Giovani dos Santos, Robbie Keane, Gyasi Zardes and Ashley Cole. The defense will have to come up with a big performance to advance in this one.
