Squad Selection: How does FC Dallas approach their first Champions League game?

New, 3 comments

Oscar Pareja has a fairly full group available for tomorrow’s first CCL game.

FC Dallas vs San Jose Earthquakes: Match Photos

FC Dallas returns to the CONCACAF Champions League for the first time since the 2011 season. They go up against Nicaraguan champions Real Esteli FC in the first group stage game.

The schedule works out pretty well for Oscar Pareja’s side as they had a Sunday game at home and won’t play again until next Wednesday in the USOC semifinal in Los Angeles. So the big question to ask is, how big do you go in this game with the lineup? Do you rest key guys for next Wednesday or believe that this group can turn around quickly at home against a team making a long trip to Texas for the first time.

Here is what we do know about tomorrow’s availability with the roster:

OUT: Zach Loyd (concussion)

LOAN: Moises Hernandez (Rayo OKC), Timo Pitter (Energy FC), Colin Bonner (Energy FC)

Fabian Castillo is still MIA in terms of being in Texas as his on-going saga with Turkish side Trabzonspor continues. For now he is still listed in the group below for you to pick from.
