There really isn’t a better feeling than waking up on a Monday morning after the weekend that FC Dallas beat Houston.

While it wasn’t the prettiest of wins, the goals came and when they did, it looked great. It was also really good to see Michael Barrios get a pair of goals after his dry spell.
Our first breakdown of the game shows just how good FCD can be in the open field when they want to press with speed. That long ball from Maynor Figueroa was something else too by the way. I would take more of that on a regular basis from him.
Given the long trip that FCD had to go on last week, coming out of it 1-1-1 wasn’t that bad when you consider everything. The cherry certainly was beating Houston though.
Like I said, he was quiet for a while in terms of production but I really do hope those two goals are going to spark him in the final two months.
Yes, we did win the battle but Houston won the war for 2016. Which really kind of stinks when you consider FCD went 2-1-1 in all competitions against the Dynamo. Freakin’ aggregate goals.

Matt Doyle checks in with his weekly look at how things went around the league. Like Doyle mentions briefly, FCD now has the points lead and the points-per-game lead in MLS. Fun.
Should we start worrying about RSL in the Shield race? Maybe, but at least we know Colorado can drop a game from time to time.
Just as Toronto was creeping up the standings they dropped a big one at home to their rivals from Montreal. I do still worry about the Reds hanging around the Shield race given all their home games left.
If you haven’t noticed, New England (our USOC opponent) is a bit of a mess right now.
Yeah, Patrick Mullins would have been a lot of fun here in Dallas.
This is a pretty cool side-by-side comparison of the old renderings next to the new ones. We’ll have to do something like that if we can for the HOF stuff at Toyota Stadium.
