FC Dallas saw their four game unbeaten run come to an end on Saturday night in a 1-0 loss to Real Salt lake.

RSL got a 79th minute goal from Jamison Olave off a corner kick to seal the win over FC Dallas.

Both teams struggled to get things going early on in this game. FCD had their first real chance in the 21st minute on a Maximiliano Urruti shot. Urruti found himself all alone with the goalkeeper, Nick Rimando, 20 yards from goal. But the Argentine’s shot would sail just over the crossbar.

Michael Barrios gave Dallas a chance in the first minutes of the second half. In the 52nd minute, Barrios got free from his RSL defender before putting in a hard shot that hit off the crossbar and would go out of play.

Urruti had another scoring chance in the 54th minute. Kellyn Acosta got the ball near the penalty box. He found Urruti free inside the box but Urruti’s shot was denied by Rimando.

The loan goal of the night game in the 78th minute off a corner kick by RSL. Joao Plata played the corner shot to Javier Morales. The veteran midfielder sent in a curling ball into the penalty box that got blocked out but only as far as Olave, who volleyed it home into the top part of the goal.

Dallas pushed for an equalizer late in stoppage time off a chance from Acosta. The Dallas Homegrown sent in a corner that found the head of Ryan Hollingshead but the ball went just wide of the far post.

FCD returns to action next week with two games. First they will head to Nicaragua to play their second CONCACAF Champions League group stage match against Real Esteli FC on Wednesday, before heading to Houston to face the Dynamo in MLS action on Saturday
