Could FC Dallas make one more move this summer? It appears to be the case as the team announced on Tuesday that they have waived defender Agustin Jara.
The Argentine defender was signed back in May after training with the club during the preseason. He made his MLS debut in a 4-2 win against New England at Gillette Stadium on May 21. The outside back also saw time in a 1-1 draw with Houston on June 2 and a 1-1 draw in Colorado on July 23. Jara started two of Dallas’ four matches in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup this summer.
Its possible he may be best remembered for his nasty tackle on Dillon Serna in the USOC win over Colorado.
While FCD is down one person in the defensive depth now with this move, it does free up an international roster slot for Fernando Clavijo and company to play with in the final weeks of the season. They do have until September 15, the date of the league’s roster freeze, to sign someone.
Again, if they do sign someone right now it will have to be a free agent.
