During today’s broadcast on ESPN of the Seattle-LA game, color commentator Taylor Twellman once again broke news like he so often does. This news was certainly big as he stated the Fabian Castillo deal to Trabzonspor was now dead.
FC Dallas’ lead radio man Steve Davis also confirm that with the club before the game against Vancouver.
ESPN's @TaylorTwellman told you no deal for Fabian Castillo as of now. Club now says the deal is 100 percent dead. Not "mostly dead." Dead.— Steve Davis (@SteveDavis90) July 31, 2016
This is certainly an interesting development in this odd saga that saw Castillo go to Turkey on his own without any sort of deal in place with Trabzonspor. A lot of the talk today around the club has been that the Turkish side didn’t have the money to complete the deal, thus getting us to this point.
We can also confirm on our end that Castillo will be back in Dallas this week and could even be available for Thursday night’s Champions League game against Real Esteli FC.
What do you all make of this development? Happy that Castillo isn’t going to be leaving right now or do you think this will do more harm than good?
