FC Dallas vs Vancouver Whitecaps FC: Match Predictions

Our old friend returns to Toyota Stadium. Will FC Dallas be able to keep up their league-leading form without Castillo?

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

Blas Perez returns to Frisco to take on the team he spent so many years with. FC Dallas is rediscovering its identity after Castillo's impending move to Turkey and will be very motivated to succeed in front of the home crowd.

A home match usually indicates a victory and many of us believe this will be a victory for the good guys. How have we been doing so far in predictions? Here are the latest standings:

Becky Chabot Win 2 1 Barrios and Diaz put FCD up 2 in the first half, but Blas pulls one back early in the second half and FCD barely manages to avoid conceding another. Ref hands out cards left and right and at least one team finishes with less than 11 men on the pitch.
Ben Lyon Win 3 0 Q: Who loves the heat? A: Not denizens of the Pacific Northwest. The Three Amigos (Diaz, Barrios, Urruti) all score as the Whitecaps melt into maple syrupesque sludge.
Cody Gamond Win 2 0 Barrios shows why we don't need Castillo by scoring a brace and terrorizing Vancouver. Urruti hits the post 5 times.
Drew Epperley Win 2 1 The teams struggle early with the heat but Diaz turns it on late with two goals.
Jack Hazzard Win 1 0 Fast paced and full of life but not much comes from it. Hedges will score off a set piece early, causing both sides to shut down. And out of nowhere Castillo comes off the bench to say he is staying!
Jared Tilley Win 2 0
Jason Poon Win 3 1 Hollingshead with the brace.
Mohammad Bushnaq Win 3 1 Super Raton returns to a standing ovation from the faithful but is left ruing the day he left Frisco after his old team runs circles around his new one. Diaz is in prime form and gets a goal. Tesho secures the points with a good run of his own before Barrios gets one on a late counterattack to seal the deal.
Nathan Hill Win 1 0

The performance is dominant but the team can't quite get the ball in the net as much as they would like. Castillo is missed. Dan Hunt also ticks off fans when he dons a suit made out of money and walks around the stadium. Some fans notice more than a few bills are actually Turkish IOUs.

Phil Luetchford Win 2 0 A dominant performance at home in the heat awaits Dallas. Fabi is missed, but the goals are still there. Barrios and Diaz each tally one. Vancouver's forward woes continue as Hedges and Zim lock it down.
Ryan Scalon Win 2

FCD takes the cake. Barrios and Urruti show why we don't really need Castillo to dominate a Western Conference rival. We aren't going to collapse due to one player leaving. Chill guys.
