Now that the All-Star Game is over, FC Dallas preps for Vancouver.

I won't lie to you, this week felt weird not having FC Dallas play once in the midweek and then again on the weekend. But here we are at the end of the week as Vancouver comes to town on Sunday.

Our staff looked at one topic that seems to be popping up here lately about whether or not we'd want Clint Dempsey here in Dallas. A couple years ago it wouldn't have been a debate but now it isn't the case.

6-1-1 in the last eight games is impressive to say the least but August is going to be just as tough as July was and then you are looking at an even tougher final two months of the regular season.

Arsenal downs All-Stars 2-1 |

So the annual MLS vs the world game happened last night. Kellyn Acosta got a start for the league stars and avoided an injury on a collision in the first half. Mauro Diaz played the entire second half as well.

Watching Didier Drogba score against Arsenal is always fun. My Arsenal loving brother was sure to get a text about that last night.

Even though the league didn't pick up a win last night, the game wasn't half bad. For me it was still good to see young talent like Acosta and Keegan Rosenberry on the team.

Garber on expansion, instant replay and more |

During the game last night, league commissioner Don Garber was interviewed on ESPN about a few topics. Naturally he covered expansion in Miami and how slowly that is moving (still no word on Minnesota just yet). Then he dove into the thoughts of instant replay, which sound like are moving along here.

Dempsey: I want to retire in Seattle | Stars and Stripes FC

Despite the grumblings that lead our staff to discuss Deuce in Dallas, he made sure to let folks know that he wants to finish his career with Seattle.

Seattle welcomes back Alvaro Fernandez | Sounder at Heart

The former Seattle and Chicago DP is back in MLS with the Sounders. Part of it is likely due to the other newly signed DP Nicolas Lodeiro. Both signings make the Sounders better but boy they still have a ways to go to get into the playoff hunt.

Donovan: MLS HGPs need more minutes | FourFourTwo

This one got lost in the shuffle yesterday morning for me but it is worth the share today. Landon Donovan talks about how important it is for our HGPs to get minutes. We know and see the value in it here in Dallas. At some point other teams will figure it out too.
