Castillo's late goal pushes FCD through | Big D Soccer

I keep coming back to this one thought in my head after this game last night, good teams find ways to win no matter what. I think FCD is starting to figure out those sorts of things right now.

It wasn't a super great game all around from the Dallas attack but the team poured it on late and got the win.

Overall it was a solid night for the club. The attack had their chances and made the most of one of them. The defense looked good as Aubrey David is starting to turn out to be a killer signing for this club.

Final four set in the USOC |

On one side you have some old foes in New England and Chicago, and on the other you have FCD and LA. The draw for who hosts the semis and finals comes out later today. Cross your fingers FCD remains at home for both.

Three teams complete trade on Wednesday |

It was rumored and then came true all in the same day as DCU sent Fabian Espindola to Vancouver and then brought in Patrick Mullins from NYCFC. Interesting swap for all sides. I would have taken Mullins here as a depth piece.

From the sound of things, DCU really wanted Mullins for a while now. Makes sense to bring a local kid back home and to dump a large salary like Espindola's.

I do think it will come sooner rather than later in this league. We all know we want to do it.

Complexities of youth clubs receiving compensation for player developments |

I said a while back that this would be a big topic for the year and this is certainly an article that needs to be digested over some coffee and donuts. And with the whole Weston McKennie thing going on right now, you gotta think FC Dallas is curious to see how this unfolds as well.

We get another publication to reveal who they think should have been called into next week's All-Star Game. Nice to see some praise for Ryan Hollingshead.

I would start with fixing that defense before I do anything else.
