FC Dallas completes historic double at USSDA Championship

The academy trophy case is going to get a couple new additions.

FC Dallas’ U-18 and U-16 teams capped off an amazing year by claiming the first ever double national titles in USSDA history.

Never before as an academy produced national titles in both divisions in the same year. FC Dallas also saw one of their academy teams defend a national title as well on the day.

FC Dallas U-16s won their second-consecutive USSDA National Championship defeating the LA Galaxy 2-0. The younger side got goals from Aldo Quevedo and Jesus Ferreira.

FC Dallas U-18s defended their 2015 U-16 National Championship outlasting the Vancouver Whitecaps with Devin Vega scoring the game-tying goal late in the match and Juanito Ramirez scoring the game-winner deep into extra time to secure the National Championship.

The U-18s also played without arguably their best player in Weston McKennie, who is rumored to be heading off to Germany in the coming weeks (though no official word on that anywhere that we’ve been able to find).

It should also be noted that the U-15s are still in contention to win a national title in their own right. And the U-14 side went undefeated this season. So, the academy sides are certainly stocked with trophies this year.
