Ranking Recap: FC Dallas moves up after win over RSL

Naturally FC Dallas moved up in the various rankings across the web.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at FC Dallas Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas returned home for a match against Real Salt Lake and comfortably earned three points. And of course it means some Power Rankings bumped them up in the process. Ranking: 2 (last week 5)

Comment: Broke out of a three-game winless skid with a convincing win over visiting RSL, a victory punctuated by an unreal assist from Mauro Diaz. And even better news could soon be coming for FCD, as Fernando Clavijo hinted at a summer transfer window signing on Monday's ExtraTime Radio.

Soccer America Ranking: 2 (last week 2)

Comment: A masterclass match by Mauro Diaz helped FCD end a modest three-game winless streak. He assisted on both goals after going pointless in those three games. Goals by Kellyn Acosta and Fabian Castillo were enough to subdue RSL. At home, FCD is 6-0-3 and its goal difference of 10 (16 scored, six allowed) is tied for the league lead. Ranking: 5 (last week 9)

Comment: The only word for Mauro Diaz's bicycle-kick pass to spring Fabian Castillo for FC Dallas' second goal in a 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake is "audacious". More of anything resembling that and Diaz moves back into the MVP conversation.
