FC Dallas takes on the Colorado Rapids tonight in the Round of 16 in the 2016 US Open Cup.
Colorado (9-2-5) is off to the league’s best start this season, having not lost a game since April 9. Dallas (9-5-4) is just one point behind them despite having played two more league games.
The winner if this match faces a trip to Houston or Sporting Kansas City in the quarterfinals on or around July 20.
SUSPENDED: none
FC Dallas Injury Report
OUT: Zach Loyd (concussion)
QUESTIONABLE: Ryan Hollingshead (concussion)
FCD Notes:
Last year against Colorado. The Rapids were a pesky team for Dallas to deal with in 2015. Despite having one of the league’s worst records, FCD failed to beat them in their three meetings.
Big stars for Colorado. According to the Rapids, USMNT stars Jermaine Jones and Tim Howard have not travelled with the squad. Shkelzen Gashi is also doubtful after spending the past few days in Tirana following Albania’s elimination from the Euro 2016.
First choice lineup. FCD and Colorado both have games next Monday, which is a fairly good turnaround for MLS clubs. Colorado didn’t play over the weekend, so they will likely be more rested for this contest.
