The United States surprised a lot of us by winning Group A in Copa America and now get the task of battling a familiar face in Seattle tonight when face off against Ecuador.
FC Dallas midfielder Carlos Gruezo leads the Ecuadorian side that managed to get out of a tough Group B that saw the likes of Brazil go back to South America empty handed. Ecuador finished second in Group B by picking up two draws against Brazil and Peru while dominating Haiti to help advance.
The two sides met just a couple weeks ago here in Frisco for a tuneup match that saw the US win on a late Darlington Nagbe goal. It would be expected to see a different type of game tonight in Seattle from that one.
Jurgen Klinsmann will have to tinker with his lineup tonight after seeing DeAndre Yedlin pick up a red card in the win over Paraguay last weekend. This will oddly enough be his first new lineup of the tournament.
Should the US advance they will get the winner of Argentina-Venezuela on June 21.
Join us tonight as we take in this match as this will be our game thread.
