We’re still a few weeks out from the summer transfer window opening back up for MLS teams but the hot rumor of the day involved FC Dallas.
Reports out of Costa Rica link national team striker Jonathan McDonald to the North Texas side. The 28-year old McDonald is apparently on his way out of Costa Rican side Alajuelense.
"What says Victor is right, what we are doing together with Jonathan is looking for the best option, there are possibilities in MLS," he .Recordó the striker had ruled go to Antigua, Guatemala.
In addition, there is a possibility in the MLS with FC Dallas.
"The plan remains the same, has not changed our decision. What is Victor indicates that the player is part of the institution and that if he could not get any option should analyze their situation," quoted Vasquez.
McDonald has spent time in North America with Vancouver in 2010, Sweden and Costa Rica. In the past three seasons with Alajuelense he has scored 21 goals in 38 games.
Judging by the report, it sounds like his contract is not entirely up this summer. So that would mean a move to Dallas is likely going to cost at least something to MLS. If anything though, this would be one of those types of players you’d want for the CONCACAF Champions League games, as he does have some good experience in that tournament.
What do you make of the sound of this forward coming to FC Dallas?
